In between arguing with Adam over when to cut off access to her neighbours’ back yards, Jolene has another challenging problem to deal with tonight – finding the time to spend her last $10,000.
She’s cashed up thanks to winning a mid-week challenge, but can’t seem to give her money away with every water feature she tries to buy already snapped up or not in the state.
The one she really has her heart set on has been bought by her mates and neighbours Lisa and Rosco.
Add to that the fact that Adam is resisting her demands to stop Chantel and Wyatt and Lisa and Rosco carting their landscaping materials through their sideway – the only way to get them to their back yards other than wheelbarrowing through their own houses – and she’s had enough.

Jolene’s frustration at Adam looking after everyone except themselves boils over.
Retreating to the car to cry and panic Google water features, Dan takes pity on her and sits in the passenger seat to give her a pep talk.
An arch competitor himself, he’s sympathetic to her frustration with her easy-going husband.
“We’ve battled so much in our life so it really, really annoys me when he gets so blasé,” she tells Dan.
But the water feature gods must be smiling because when the $3000 sculptural stone edifice of her dreams arrives at Lisa and Rosco’s house, they’re shocked to discover it also needs a pond installed to go with it, which Foreman Dan estimates is going to cost another $4000 to $5000.
Without the cash to install it, Dan suggests they sell it to their cashed-up crying neighbour.
Rosco for once drives a hard bargain, and pockets $5000 for the piece, somehow leaving Adam happy with the arrangement.
“I would have paid just about double that,” he says.
Lisa finds out her water feature is going to cost an extra $4000-$5000 for installation.
Then it’s back to arguing about blocking access.
Until they shut the gap in the fence, Adam and Jolene can’t get to work on pouring the concrete slab for the shed that’s earmarked for the spot, or start planting in the area that’s currently a wheelbarrow avenue.
“The more time we give them, the more stuff gets in. Adam doesn’t seem to think it’s a competition. Adam wants to be mates with everyone. Cogs have absolutely stopped in our backyard, and Adam is just living his best life, all cupcakes and unicorns,” Jolene says.
After being threatened daily with losing their access, Chantel and Wyatt and Lisa and Rosco are just grateful for every moment that doesn’t happen, though if this is Wyatt grateful, we’d hate to see him ungrateful.

At the final walk throughs with host Scott Cam and Matilda’s captain Shelley Craft, most of the teams are emotional. Both Rick and Adam shed tears at the prospect of the show finishing, with Rick declaring he is “very, very proud” of his workshy daughter Tayla.
Chantel and Wyatt are somewhat less moved.

Asked if she would do the show again Chantel says “hell no”.
Asked if he had learned anything about himself by doing the show Wyatt’s answer is
“Nah, don’t think so.”
