Beau Ryan turned up at the prize home winner’s door
A Sydney woman has staged the ultimate real estate rejection, slamming down the phone on hearing she’d won a $10.2m Gold Coast mansion once owned by a prominent influencer.
The sceptical winner even blocked the lottery boss’ number, convinced the news was a scam — until NRL star turned TV and radio host Beau Ryan turned up at her door.
She had scored the property jackpot from Dream Home Art Union, a Currumbin mansion formerly held by wellness entrepreneur and social media influencer Georgie Stevenson

But when the lotteries general manager Ben Sawkins called to deliver the news, he was swiftly shut down, with the woman also ignoring a slew of follow-up text messages and emails.
“I spoke to the winner and she hung up on me. I’ve texted her and emailed her. She thinks I’m selling her a ticket, or that it’s a scam,” Mr Sawkins said.
“We appreciate that with the number of scams out there, sometimes our winners don’t believe it’s a real call and that their life is about to change.”
With the winner refusing her life-changing fortune, and a last-ditch letter already in the post, Mr Sawkins went to Triple M Sydney’s breakfast team to help, sending hosts Ryan and Aaron Woods to door-knock her home and finally convince her of the phenomenal win.

Even then she remained in disbelief, telling the team she “can’t get excited because I still don’t believe it”.
The prize package also includes $400,000 in gold bullion, a Land Rover Defender, and a full suite of high-end furniture and appliances.
Stevenson and her husband Tim Crouch sold the architectural masterpiece to the lottery group for $8m late last year.
Perched on a 1138sq m block bordering a nature reserve, the multi-level hillside home has an infinity pool, sauna, ice bath, gym, private lift, and separate guesthouse.
Built in 2017 by Mactech Constructions and designed by Paul Uhlmann, its features include a whitewashed coastal palette, spotted gum timber floors, and uninterrupted ocean views.
