The original kitchen at 14 Kalimna St, Hamlyn Heights is bursting with retro charm.
A passion for retro 1960s decor could be the key to the sale of a beloved Hamlyn Heights ‘time capsule’ frozen in the past.
Six different patterns of wallpaper, a curved blue kitchen bench and an old-school potato vent are among original features preserved at 14 Kalimna St.
White House, Geelong listing agent Aisha Coe said the vendor grew up in the three-bedroom weatherboard house, which belonged to her parents.

The three-bedroom house sits on a 656sq m property.
She is now selling the 656sq m property for $650,000 to $700,000.
“I sell lots of big fancy houses but this one has really taken me by surprise – I have completely fallen in love with it,” Ms Coe said.
“My client grew up in that house and shared a bedroom with her sister, she remembers an amazing childhood in that home.
“The house itself is in very good nick, it’s just cosmetic. There are couple of cracks but we had a building and pest inspection and there are no major defects and the rest of the house is immaculate.”
The main living room has a wood fire.
The bathroom has a blue and pink theme.
All the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and one also has a desk.
The kitchen winds back the clock decades with its original blue cabinetry and a vent below the pantry designed to provide ventilation for produce.
Built-in timber cabinetry features throughout the bedrooms and in the rear sunroom that overlooks the large rear garden.
“We counted six different wallpapers and all the wallpaper is original. Her mum and dad did it all by hand,” Ms Coe said.
“It’s got a very cool built-in bench in the living room and a pink and blue bathroom.”
